They Skijor!

The llama has waited quietly for Bob to help him into a new leather harness. He watches Bob put on his skis, and his anticipation grows. By the time his friend sorts out the reins, and gets a firm hold on the traces, he can hardly contain himself.

Bob gives the signal, and they rush forward into the smooth snow. Powder flies, as the llama's toes eat up the ground. Bob is glad of his wind-proof jacket, and thick wool herringbone plus-fours, as the pair reach a speed of 35 mph!

Skis

We are in the middle of another big snow-storm, so I decided to make a pen sketch of Bob and his llama, getting ready for some winter fun.

Bob is keeping warm in wool plus fours, a turtle neck sweater and a jacket. Both his look and pose are inspired by the beautiful 1930s fashion illustration on the right. Instead of ski poles, though, Bob is carrying a leather harness, and the llama has on his protective leather sport boots; ready to lead his friend through the powder! Next I will have to finish a color illustration of skis, harness, llama, and Bob, all working together.
