Snow
Snow has started to fall, but it's not staying on the ground quite yet.
Perfect weather for blanket robes and hot tea.

Happy Halloween!
Now you can see what Bob's pin curls were for. He wanted to achieve a very fluffy early 1800s hairstyle. The llama is wearing a historic carriage harness.

Fall Leaves
The colorful Autumn foliage is here, and Bob has a new sweater!
Perhaps he has a tasty morsel for the llama in his plus four pocket?

Three new Small Pictures
I've been experimenting more with adding digital backgrounds behind my illustrations. I think it helps give the pieces a clean look.
Here, Bob jumps over a 1930 G.A.R. Type B5 roadster.
Bob helps his llama on with his goggles.
The llama eats the old roses that Bob trims.

Bob & his llama in 3D: Dressing Gown
Along with making illustrations, I also like to craft miniatures. I thought it would be a fun challenge to create a 3d version of Bob and his llama, along with a couple of Bob's outfits.
Here is Bob in a dressing gown, scarf, undershirt, underwear, socks and black pajama bottoms. He and his llama are in 1:6 scale. To create Bob, I began with one of Mattel's new slim ken dolls. Number 11, to be exact. He has a slightly wider face than Bob, but his body type is right.
The original doll is on the left. I removed his lip, and eyebrow paint with acetone, and used his eyes as a guideline. The picture on the right shows his new eyebrows, hair color, and some repainting on his eyes.
Here is Bob's face, all painted. I used acrylic paint and added real, wool eyelashes.
To create the llama, I started with a pipe-cleaner armature, and added a wool batting over the top, needle felting everything into place.
To make his fluffy coat, I needle felted sections of alpaca/nylon yarn to the batting. He has little painted glass beads for eyes, and the finishing touches were added with acrylic paint.

Bob and his Llama on Instagram!
We are now on instagram! Finding illustrations that look nice cropped as a square has proved a challenge. So, I've decided to make little color sketches especially for instagram, and post them from time to time. You can find the new Bob and his Llama instagram account here.

The llama has got his leather boots on and is bravely carrying Bob through a game of Polo.
This is the third illustration in my series of 5"x7"cards and will be embellished with sparkly gold glitter.

Put Your Best Foot Forward
Bob and his llama do love to dance. The llama prefers not to perform many complicated steps, but he can dance a solid Tango.
This piece was inspired by all the gentleman dance teams that tread the Vaudeville boards, and nightclub floors of yesteryear. I also took inspiration from The Macana Brothers, who's impeccable and comedic performances are so much fun to watch.
This is the second illustration for my new collection of 5x7 cards.

The Time is Always Right for Snappy Shoes
No hoof no horse, as the saying goes. A fellow needs the right shoes for the right occasion, and he feels just that much more confidant and self-assured if those shoes are a thing of beauty.
This illustration is the first in a series of larger greeting cards. They will be 5"x7," and this one will be lightly embellished with silver glitter.
